SOS Children’s Village Hatyai, Songkla was established as the second SOS Children’s Village in 1988 on over 9 acres of land. It was dedicated as a royal offering to honor the auspicious occasion of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s 60th Birthday Anniversary (December 5, 1987). This SOS Children’s Village consists of 12 family houses for children and mothers, one office building, one nursery building, one official residence for the director, one staff house, and one building for occupational training. The official opening ceremony was held on Friday, March 2, 1990, with His Excellency Thanin Kraiwichian, former prime minister and Privy Councilor, presiding over the ceremony.
