As our 4th location, SOS Children’s Villages Thailand and SOS Children’s Villages International decided to expand our services to include children without support from parents and relatives in the northern part of Thailand. Choosing over 8 acres in Chiang Rai, this location was dedicated to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit in honor of the Auspicious Occasion of Her Majesty’s 72nd Birthday Anniversary. Her Majesty the Queen graciously gave the name to SOS Children’s Village Chiang Rai as “The Glory -- in Celebration of the Auspicious Occasion of Her Majesty the Queen Sirikit’s 72nd Birthday Anniversary” in 2005. This SOS Children’s Village consists of 14 family houses for children and mothers, one office building, one nursery building, one staff house, one official residence for the director, one accommodation house for guests, and one parking and maintenance building.
