Established SOS Children’s Village Bangpoo, Samutprakarn as the first Children’s Village in 1971 on a land with the area of more than 16,000 square meters donated by Thanpuying Somsri Charoen-Rajapark, the founder and the Honorary Chairwoman of SOS Children’s Villages Thailand.
In this SOS Children’s Village, it consists of 12 families houses for children and mothers, one official residence for the director, one multi-purpose building (consisted of accommodation rooms for guests, aunties, and staffs on the upstairs; an office, a first-aid room, a machine room, and a village’s cooperative on the upstairs), one nursery building, one library, one staff accommodation house, and one accommodation building for retired mothers.
The official opening ceremony of SOS Children’s Village Bangpoo, Samutprakarn was held on February 20th, 1974, with Her Majesty Queen Rambhai Barni of the Seventh Reign, as the president of the ceremony.
