SOS Children's Villages Thailand help children who have lost their parents, lack of relatives since 1971 in the form of long-term care – family-like care. Thanpuying Somsri Charoen-rachaphak was the founder together with Thanpuying Sumalee Chatikavanich, the founding committee at that time and the group It was adopted from SOS Children's Villages International by Dr. Hermann Gmeiner, founder which is a model of international SOS Children's Villages around the world.

SOS Children's Villages Thailand is a member of SOS Children's Villages International and has members in more than 130 countries around the world.

SOS Children's Villages Thailand was founded on November 12, 1971, the first SOS Children's Village was built in 1972 by Thanpuying Somsri Charoen-rachaphak donated land of 10 Rai (16,000 square meter) to build SOS Children's Village Bangpoo, Samut Prakan, the first SOS Children's Village in Thailand by received the title of the Royal Patronage from Her Majesty Queen Sirikit in 1976.

SOS Children's Villages International, founded by the Austrian Dr. Hermann Gmeiner in 1949, with the SOS Children Village Imst in Austria. Was the first village Prof. Dr. Charoen and Thanpuying Somsri Charoen Rajapark When visiting and visiting the world's first SOS children's village in Imst , Austria For the first time and impressed with the operation of the SOS Children's Village, therefore adopted in Thailand. Currently, Mr. Helmut Kutin is the honorary president.
